Keep that Same Energy.

One of my wife’s favorite phrases is “keep that same energy.” It comes from today’s Bible app verse coming from Luke 6:38 NLT. “Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full – pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”

When I hear this verse in ministry it’s always referring to money, which has some truth to it. This verse can refer to a lot of things. It confirms that karma is real. The energy you put out will determine the energy you receive.

People who put out negative energy will receive negative energy. Trump didn’t have two impeachment trials just because the devil was out to get him. Trump got two impeachment trials because of the energy he spewed.

The key word in this verse is gift. This isn’t referring to tithing because tithing was a law. This isn’t referring to the time you spend at work because working hours is an obligation. This is referring to anything that you do out of the kindness of your heart, which is what a gift is.

The word gift doesn’t have to technically mean like something you give on Christmas. It can mean the time and effort you spend on your relationships, work duties, goals, etc.

The verse ends with “the amount you give will determine the amount you get back.” Key word here is amount. The amount of time you give to the quality of your work, the amount of money you can afford to give showing you’re a good steward of your finances, the amount of work you give to your marriage, job, hobbies, and so on.

The energy you give to anything will determine the energy you receive. Committing sins receives a guilty conscience. Doing whats right receives blessings and a clear conscience.

The energy you put into things done in the dark, keep that same energy if you get caught. Most people are sorry because they feel guilty. They feel guilty because they got caught and can see the damage they done.

Sometimes you may not feel like you’re benefiting from doing the right thing. But God sees everything done under the sun. When we die imagine God saying, “Keep that same energy on judgement day.” Hopefully, you won’t be frightened like Hitler.
