Dr. Disrespect is Not Coming Back Bigger and Better.

Dr. Disrespect admitted on Twitter that he had a conversation with a minor that was inappropriate at times but nothing illegal happened. He also got pissed at all the people calling him a pedophile and said that he wasn’t going anywhere. He stated that he’s taking an extended vacation and will be back bigger and better.

When Dr. Disrespect was banned from Twitch, everyone speculated why. The only assumption that I heard of at the time was that Dr. Disrespect cheated on his wife.

Now if adultery was the reason Dr. Disrespect got banned then yes, he could bounce back from that. Cheating allegations against celebrities have been around forever, and nobody’s career has been completely damaged because they cheated on their spouse. Take Tiger Woods for example he cheated on his wife with multiple women, took some time off for “therapy” and came back to playing golf. 

But messaging a minor as a 35 year old man in a feature called Whispers is at the very least creepy. And given that Dr. Disrespect said nothing illegal happened and that he never met the minor, what he didn’t say spoke louder. He didn’t say that he didn’t attempt to meet up with the minor and he didn’t say that he didn’t know that the person was a minor after the conversation became inappropriate.

Plenty of average streamers have gotten caught up in drama, taken some time off, and come back as if nothing ever happened. Or, they switched streaming platforms and restarted their image.

Dr. Disrespect is one of the most successful streamers ever. He can’t take time off and have everyone forget why he left in the first place. He can’t switch platforms. The only other platform to go to is Kick, which would be a major downgrade for the platform of Dr. Disrespect. He can’t change his gimmick and rise to the fame and fortune the Dr. Disrespect persona got him.

Dr. Disrespect should take a permanent break from streaming and apply to be an IT Help Desk somewhere. It’s been seven years since the alleged incident that got him banned from Twitch. That’s seven years that Dr. Disrespect has been able to continue streaming, building his platform, and, most of all, getting richer. I wouldn’t be surprised if he were on a tight budget just waiting for the day that this news would come out.

If there is any chance of a comeback for Dr. Disrespect, he will have to at least take a break for seven years. We have already seen how quickly Microsoft’s Mixer collapsed. Thousands of streamers have quit streaming due to the popularity whining down. I highly doubt Dr. Disrespect would make a comeback in seven years just because streaming might be dead by then.  

Technically, Dr. Disrespect didn’t do anything wrong. He’s not charged with a crime. He’s not a registered sex offender. He’s not being sued by the minor for all we know. But in the world of celebrity, people can love you today and hate you tomorrow all because of something you did or said. People are human and will do dumb stuff sometimes. Like how NICKMERCS was in hot water for his anti-LGBTQ comments. 

Dr. Disrespect should see what island Diddy is hiding out on and start over. His own gaming studio chose to cut ties with him, and many other endorsements are cutting ties with him as well. How in the world is he going to come back bigger and better?
