Find Your Interest and Obsess over it.

What advice would you give to your teenage self?

Most of the greatest successful people in the world knew what they loved to do at a young age and they became obsessed with being the best at that thing. I remember I was a senior in high school and I was reading a bunch of Ted Dekker novels when I thought to myself that I wanted to write a novel too.

This goal has stuck with me since but I’ve also been interested in (and distracted) by other things. I’ve also wanted to master chess, I wanted to become a successful streamer back when Microsoft’s Mixer was at its peak performance, I’ve wanted to dap into rapping, at one point I wished to join a private league baseball team, and now I’m obsessed with simulation racing and NASCAR.

Even Michael Jordan was interested in playing baseball and golf but he also was obsessed with basketball.

It’s ok to have other interests but I too often allow myself to get distracted with other interests thinking that once I publish my first book I’ll become an instant success.
