Write full time without a comfortable savings.

What’s the thing you’re most scared to do? What would it take to get you to do it?

I never found the starving artist lifestyle alluring. I can’t imagine having the enthusiasm to write when I’m not sure how I’ll pay my bill in six months.

If I ever quit my job to write full time then I’d have to have a hefty publishing bonus and at least a years worth of savings to pay all my bills and then some.

A year is long enough to write a novel but not long enough to do it comfortably. I wouldn’t want to feel rushed or desperate to write a best-seller.
