“The Equalizer 3” Review

Just caught The Equalizer 3, and each installment just keeps getting better and better. Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Can Denzel Washington still bring it?”

Denzel is back as Robert McCall, and despite looking older than he did in “Equalizer 2,” he’s still got that same magnetic presence. If anything, his balding head and old man walk just gives him this distinguished air that adds another layer to his character. He kicks ass and takes names, just like we all remember, but there’s an added layer now. You can tell this guy has seen some stuff, and you absolutely believe every eye-narrowing stare and meticulously executed takedown.

There is no hunting Robert McCall. Instead, McCall does all the hunting with no patience. He has found Italy to be his home. And he has found peace in Italy. And he’s not going to let anybody take that away from him.

As for the plot, it’s tighter, the pacing’s more on-point, and the stakes? Higher than ever. If “Equalizer” was a promising start and “Equalizer 2” was a satisfying follow-up, then “Equalizer 3” is the grand finale that ties it all together with a bang. They’ve really nailed the balance between action and drama.

So, if you’ve been a fan of the series or you’re just in the mood for an action-packed ride, do yourself a favor and check out “The Equalizer 3.” Trust me, this is the trilogy at its best, and Denzel is still very much in the game.
